ROCO In Concert: A Stitch in Time

On November 13, ROCO’s In Concert series marches on with “A Stitch in Time” at The Church of St. John the Divine and also livestreamed at ROCO.org, Facebook, and YouTube. Conductor Jeri Lynne Johnson makes her ROCO debut, leading the world premiere of Mark Adamo’s Last Year for cello and orchestra, featuring ROCO Principal Cellist Richard Belcher, with each movement representing one of the four seasons. Winding up the program are Hilary Purrington’s FIFteen Project commission Threshold, Jonathan Peters’ Arthropod Suite—accompanied by images from the Houston Museum of Natural Science, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 in F Major, whose 2nd movement parodies the metronome. ROCOrooters childcare and music education program is available in conjunction with all of ROCO’s In Concert performances at The Church of St. John the Divine during the 2021-2022 season, and ROCOrooters free, downloadable learning materials are available for all of ROCO’s In Concert and Unchambered performances.
