The annual Founders Day Celebration was started in 1976 as part of the nation’s bicentennial celebration. The event has continued on in celebration of the founding fathers development of the area now known as Plain Township and the City of New Albany and is funded by donations from the community. We welcome about 7,000 people each year to Founders Day. The festival has been held at several locations throughout the City but it moved to its current home in Rose Run Park in 2021.
